Jack Somers is a Marine Corps Capt. He entered the Marines in 2006. In 2010 He was deployed to Afghanistan and shortly after returning began to experience seizures. Jack became medically separated from the Marine Corps in 2012 and he is the creator of Relobase which is an app helping service men and women relocate. Every year approximately 1.3 million service people and their families relocate. Typically, there is a person called a Family Readiness Officer assigned to each battalion; a battalion is about 500ppl. The FRO is in charge of the send off and the receiving of new service people and between the two they are overwhelmed in such a way that leaves service men and women to figure much of their relocation out on their own. Jack’s app is changing all of this. Relobase helps each service person from finding places to live, grocery stores to shop at, and doctors, and dentists down to specific details like finding an apartment that faces the west so one can watch the sunset.
